About the Role
Highstock is hiring a Director of Business Operations to partner directly with the founder in shaping the strategic direction and performance of the business. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for someone who thrives on ambiguity. Success in this role requires a rare blend of strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and operational problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the founder to shape strategy, prioritize investments, and ensure alignment between near-term execution and long-term vision
- Define and own the key performance metrics that measure the health of the business; build our forecasting, planning, and reporting
- Develop and optimize monetization strategies as Highstock scales its marketplace
- Identify and execute growth initiatives in close partnership with growth and operations teams
- Own monthly and quarterly business reviews
- Act as a force multiplier across the company: securing buy-in, unblocking teams, and ensuring we hit our most ambitious goals
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, consulting, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital, with meaningful time spent operating inside a company (ideally a high-growth startup or marketplace)
- Track record of owning ambiguous, cross-functional problems and driving them to measurable outcomes
- Highly analytical — sophisticated in financial modeling and comfortable working with data directly (SQL strongly preferred)
- Direct experience engaging with executives and senior leaders to influence strategic decisions
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to operate at all altitudes
- Bias toward action, comfort with ambiguity, and an ownership mindset
